Nano- and Micro-Scale Impact Testing of Hard Coatings: A Review

چکیده
In this review, the operating principles of nano-impact test technique are described, compared and contrasted to micro- macro-scale impact tests. Impact fatigue mechanisms discussed, behaviour three different industrially relevant coating systems has been investigated in detail. The (i) ultra-thin hard carbon films on silicon, (ii) DLC hardened tool steel (iii) nitrides WC-Co. influence mechanical properties substrate load-carrying capacity (H3/E2) coating, use simulate erosion, studies modelling nano- micro-impact performing tests at elevated temperature also discussed.
